Count it Joy
My heart blushed as she entered the dream.
She took her place among the dancers,
her train trailing from a ring,
and still she hasn't looked at me.
And in this waking life, with a dream
lying just beneath, I perform the steps
without my partner. They say I'm practicing.
How dearly I would love to moan, mourn
this state, this fate, but I dance
with a Spirit, who teaches me.
We are engaged
to each other for the eons,
for the endless summer.
