An announcement
The problem with my voice
Is that it doesn't know what it wants to talk about.
I look within
And simply hear
A pleasant hum.
It's melodious
Contented
And surprised you're looking for more.
Maybe the lesson
Is that I'm not the greatest subject.
I'm too easily satiated.
But there is one
Whose thirst for righteousness
Spills forth in passionate action,
Spills forth in his own blood,
One who thirsted so strongly
To displays the Father's heart and glory
That he ventured forth
To dark realms of bitter strife
To lowliness and rejection
That he might show what God does
In those circumstances.
And he died -
Cruelly -
As he expected.
And he delighted in his own death
Because it pleased his Father so much,
Because he fulfilled all righteousness
To death.
And beautifully,
Wondrously,
Death could not hold him.
He held too much of all that is life.
The Father of life and lights was too pleased
To let his Son be lost.
The Son walked once again
With those who loved him,
Who still did not understand
The kingdom he was bringing,
But soon would,
And would soon be spilling
Their own ink and blood
To announce that kingdom to the world
And to invite everyone in.
I don't risk much, here and now,
To tell you this
But I do it with all my heart:
Welcome the Lord of righteousness,
Make him room -
Your heart was made to adore him.
