Time will tell

If I get no other benefit
Than the pleasure of His presence,
Which I experience imperfectly
As I am imperfect,
Or the promise of eternity
A ways off and dim like glued eyes,
Will I follow him?
He has given me sweet benefits unthought of,
But denied all my demands,
Rendered me impotent.
Can I stand the indignity?
More importantly, will I choose indignity
Over the lordly vision
Of self exalted?
Will I suffer every insult
And swallow every sin perpetrated upon me
To speak nothing of admitting my own?
Will I?
Time will tell.
