Meet Our Cats
Karen’s always been a cat-lover; I grew up as a cat-haver. Several years into our marriage, we onboarded Karen’s two elderly cats from her teenage years: Tuesday and Juice Box.
This is what Tuesday and Juice Box look like most of the time: the best, snuggliest buds. We mostly call them “Tiny” (Juice Box) and “Fatty” (Tuesday): artifacts of a time when Juice Box was scrawny and scared, and Tuesday was rotund. Tuesday is still rotund, and Juice Box is no longer either scrawny or scared, though the names still seem to fit.
Having two cats went so well that we thought, as normal people do, “We should add three more cats.” For those counting at home, yes, that’s five cats. Which sounds like a lot. And it mostly isn’t, except when it’s time to administer medications, or when cleaning litter boxes.
I decided to do some research into cat breeds and found out about the Pixie-bob, a dog-like cat with pretensions of being descended from actual Bobcats, but who is, in reality, totally domestic and just bears passing resemblance to a Bobcat.
And they. Are. Awesome.
Chibi and SeaBunny are full sisters from the same litter, and Boomer is their half-brother, about 5 weeks younger.
As you may have noticed, they are super snuggly. Perpetual-puddle-of-cats level snuggly.
SeaBunny is basically a dog. She follows us around the house, waiting outside of rooms when she’s not allowed to enter. She’s also the most beautiful cat in existence. It’s kind of obscene, actually. She’s so pretty that we decided her beauty should be used to populate the world, and so we’re breeding her.
Boomer is a meow machine. Except his meows are more like squeaks. He squeaks when you look at him. He squeaks when you talk to him. He squeaks when you pick him up. He’s also very handsome. AND SUCH BIG PAWS.
Chibi is SO SMOL. Itty bitty. She’s also the absolute snuggliest. Especially when you’re trying to work. She has a particular way of plopping herself right down in the middle of whatever you’re doing.
And since you asked so nicely, here are some more pictures of groupings of cats, starting with an actual bouquet of cats.
